The deal, which has already come into effect, will see William Hill benefitting from a huge range of sponsorship rights that will include branding, advertising, hospitality as well as exclusive Scotland imagery and content.

Campbell Ogilvie, President for the Scottish Football Association, said that they are thrilled to have William Hill as an official supporter of their national team as they have already shown a strong commitment to Scottish football with its sponsorship of the Scottish Cup and its partnership with the SPL.

William Hill in £3m sponsor deal with Scottish Cup

After the Scottish Cup spent a year without a sponsor, the Scottish Football Association has agreed to a £3 million deal with UK gambling giant, William Hill.

In terms of the deal, William Hill will become the title sponsor for the Scottish Cup football competition for a period of three years.

William Hill, the giant British gambling group, is known to be one of the most established bookmakers in Scotland and is already a betting partner of the Scottish Premier League.

The gambling group boasts over 300 betting shops across the country and more than 2,360 shops across the UK and Ireland.

As from now the Scottish Cup football competition will be known as the William Hill Scottish Club and the group will be allowed to showcase its retail, mobile and online products to Scottish fans all over the country.

Chairman of the group, Gareth Hall, stated that it seemed appropriate for the most established and largest bookmaker in Scotland to be attached to the oldest association trophy in world football and that all at William Hill consider it an honor to be able to put their name to the Scottish Cup.

Stewart Roger, Chief Executive Officer for the Scottish Football Association said that they are very proud to have a leading brand such as William Hill to sponsor the Scottish Cup for the following three seasons.

This is the first time that the Scottish Football Association has had a commercial sponsor since its eight year contract with Tennents Lager ended in 2007.
